Why do girls like military guys?

I see a military guy as a guy serving his country and doing his job. I don't see the guy I like as a celebrity and I don't want him to be seen as one. Without the dog tags, we still have very much in common :) So why do girls (especially tag chasers) get with enlisted guys?
